Bio.
Akira Law's paintings and sculpture emerge from a perspective of what the artist describes as ‘the time machine', combination of visual images and problem solving . Born and educated in the UK and now living and working between London and Japan, Akira's practice is inspired by a combination of elements of science, nature, and materials. Often beginning with visualisations that are born from the combination of.... , Akira employs various mediums from paint and sculpture to motion pictures with the objective to create continuity between subject and material. An element of the work that Akira is known for is the ability to create an illusion intertwining traditional techniques and styles with hidden technological integration. Movement and kinetic motion plays a factor in Akiras work that brings to life the object invoking the ritualized repetition integral to ceremonial processes. Akira's boldly coloured shapes are set within a flat, shallow space located in modernist abstraction.
